
Peter Zemaník
President of ZSD SR
He received a second-level university education and the title of PhDr. in 1984 at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena (GDR). He studied German studies (German and English languages) and from 1985 to 2004 worked in the media of ČST, STV and SRO as a news editor, moderator of the main news program. In the years 1990-1995, he worked as a foreign correspondent for CST (later STV) in Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and the former Yugoslavia and its successor states. After returning to Slovakia, he was the deputy director of the STV television studio in Banská Bystrica.
In 2007, he assumed the position of general secretary of the Slovak Woodworkers’ Association, in which he was in charge of coordinating activities, communication with the external and internal environment, media communication, commenting on legislation in the field of woodworking industry. He cooperated in the creation of the Human Resources Development Strategy for DSP and in the system of verification of qualifications for the sector of forestry and woodworking industry. Since 2021, he is the president of ZSD SR, its statutory body and is responsible for fulfilling the program and goals of ZSD SR.
Since 2020, he has been a member of the Quality Council of the Wood Faculty of the Technical University in Zvolen.
Since 2019, he has been a member of the Forestry Council of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Since 2019, he has been a member of the Sectoral Council for Forestry and Woodworking Industry.
Since 2007, he has been an editor, contributor and member of the editorial board of the professional magazine Drevársky / Dřevařský magazín, a periodical for the support of woodworking and furniture production.
